ABF CHARTERS provides guided fishing adventures out of Gibsons Marina on the scenic Sunshine Coast, located only 1 hour from Vancouver B.C.
We are targeting hard charging chinook salmon (July 15-March 31) and feisty, acrobatic coho salmon (June thru October) in the Georgia Straight and throughout Howe Sound.

Fishing for feeder winter chinook salmon in Howe Sound is an exciting and unique fishery that should not be missed, and here in Gibsons we are located right in the heart of the premier winter fishing grounds which ensures maximum time with the rods down and our gear in the zone every trip.
The fish we are targeting range from 7-20 lbs, and are highly revered and sought after by West Coast anglers for both the thrill of the catch and their unmatched texture and flavour. For many of us locals these are considered the #1 eating salmon, and the protected waters of beautiful Howe Sound enable us to chase these fish rain or shine while staying out of the winter winds.
On these trips we fish around the most productive tide changes, and we stay out for 4.5 hours.
5 HOUR CHARTER $800—Maximum of 4 Guests Per Boat
On these trips we get our gear in the water and start fishing a few minutes from the dock to hit some of our local hot spots in Howe Sound or along the beaches of Gibsons and Roberts Creek. Here on the lower Sunshine Coast we are very fortunate to be able to experience quality year round salmon fishing just minutes from Gibsons Marina, so it’s all fun with no run on these trips. Crab traps are always pulled up on the way home.
8 HOUR CHARTER $1200—Maximum Of 4 Guests Per Boat
Experienced anglers know that some days enough is never enough when it comes to salmon fishing. These longer trips enable us to fish multiple spots in a day, often going further out into the Georgia Straight or deeper into Howe Sound depending on the season and where the best reports are coming from, and they give us time to fish through multiple tide changes before pulling up the crab traps at the end of the day.

Your guide Dean Begley is a Gibsons local and lifelong fisherman who for over a decade has enjoyed putting anglers from around the world onto Sunshine Coast salmon.
All fishing and marine safety gear provided.
The boat is a 20’ Grady White that seats up to four guests comfortably while fishing and is powered by quiet Yamaha 4 stroke motors. The boat is equipped with a new, always sanitized port-a-potty.
